Bob Hild Tarpaulins started in 1998 in South Carolina, USA. What began as a textile fabrication business soon grew to serving the needs of the trucking industry’s demand for tougher, more durable tarpaulin fabrics for their tarps. Some of the tarpaulins were being made from conventional fabrics that didn’t hold up very well. These fabrics were originally designed for other purposes, not necessarily for tarpaulins. With the added advantage of being textile brokers and being in the industrial textile fabrication business, it was a perfect fit for us to get involved in the development of fabrics for the tarping industry. Our nylon conveyor belt fabric style # 3028 has a tensile strength of 920 pounds. It’s used for asphalt, sand, gravel and construction debris. And our fine nylon mesh diaphragm fabric style #2068 has a tensile strength of 650 pounds and is used for a variety of purposes as is our vinyl mesh and solid waterproof coated vinyl tarpaulin fabrics in 12.0 oz/sqyd (370.81 g/sqyd) to 28.0 oz/sqyd (865.23 g/sqyd).
The tarpaulins and tarps we make from solid vinyl, vinyl mesh and nylon are used by the commercial hauling industry for their front to back, side roll, open top transfer trailers, belly dump, and roll-off waste hauling tarping systems. Hild Tarping Systems front to back and side roll systems with electric motors, hydraulic motors, manual chain drive ground crank or direct drive operated systems to suit any dump truck or dump trailer. The parts for our tarping systems are interchangeable with other manufacturers. And we’re also a well established licensed distributor for Roll-Rite and Shur-Co tarping systems who mnufacture a variety of automaytic tarping systems for the commercial hauling industries.
Hild Tarping Systems’ galvanized steel units are made from round 10-gauge and 12-gauge steel tubing with underbody springs or exterior torsion springs for trucks 12' feet (3.66 meters) to 38' feet (11.58 meters). Our aluminum tarping system arms are made from extruded aluminum with underbody springs or torsion springs for trucks 12' feet (3.66 meters) to 38' feet (11.58 meters).
